AVA Music Awards Rules and Regulations

Effective date: 17 September 2026

These Brief Regulations establish the essential principles governing participation in the AVA Music Awards. They provide an overview of the Awards, eligibility, submissions, screening, Academy membership and voting. Detailed procedures and additional requirements may be published separately for a particular award cycle.

1. About the AVA Music Awards

The AVA Music Awards are an international awards platform created to recognize the artistic achievements and professional contributions of Iranian artists and music professionals around the world.

AVA celebrates music across genres, languages and traditions. Its purpose is to recognize outstanding artistic work and contributions to the wider music community and industry through a transparent, credible and artist-centered awards process.

2. Eligibility

The AVA Music Awards are open to eligible works by Iranian artists and music professionals worldwide, regardless of their country of residence, musical genre or the language of their work, subject to the requirements of the relevant award cycle and category.

For AVA 1st–2027, eligible works must have been publicly released between 1 June 2026 and 31 May 2027, inclusive.

The eligibility period defines which works may qualify for the award cycle. It is separate from the submission window, during which eligible works may be formally submitted.

For AVA 1st–2027, submissions open on 1 April 2027 and close on 31 May 2027. Works must meet the applicable eligibility requirements and be submitted within the designated submission window.

Additional requirements may apply depending on the work, category, artist or professional role. AVA reserves the right to determine eligibility in accordance with these Regulations, the applicable award-cycle requirements and the information available to it.

3. Artist Registration and Submissions

Artists or their authorized representatives must provide the information required by the official AVA platform to register an artist and submit eligible works for consideration.

Artist registration and work submission are separate processes. Registration or approval of an artist profile does not, by itself, constitute acceptance or approval of a submitted work. Similarly, a pending artist registration does not necessarily prevent a work from being submitted.

By registering an artist or submitting a work, the submitting party confirms that the information provided is accurate to the best of their knowledge and that they have the necessary rights or authority to provide the submitted material for consideration.

AVA may request additional information, clarification or supporting evidence where necessary. Incomplete, duplicated, materially inaccurate, unauthorized or otherwise ineligible submissions may be excluded from consideration.

Submitting a work does not guarantee its acceptance, nomination or selection as a winner.

4. Award Categories

The AVA Music Awards include two types of categories: Primary Categories and Additional Consideration Categories.

4.1 Primary Categories

Primary Categories are organized around musical genres and recognize achievements within those genres. Examples include Pop of the Year, Rock of the Year and Folk of the Year.

A work may be submitted to one Primary Category only.

4.2 Additional Consideration Categories

Additional Consideration Categories recognize achievements that may extend across musical genres. Examples include Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Composer of the Year.

A work may be submitted to multiple eligible Additional Consideration Categories, where applicable.

Accordingly, a work may be submitted to one Primary Category and several Additional Consideration Categories, provided it meets the applicable requirements of each category.

AVA may review category placement and make appropriate adjustments through its established screening and evaluation process.

5. Screening and Evaluation

All submissions are subject to an initial screening process.

The AVA Screening Committee reviews submissions for two purposes:

  • Production quality: determining whether a submitted work meets the minimum quality threshold expected of a serious music production.

  • Primary Category placement: checking whether the work has been submitted under the appropriate genre-based Primary Category.

The Screening Committee’s role is limited to these screening purposes. It is not intended to rank works according to personal preference or to replace the Academy’s evaluation and voting responsibilities.

Following the screening stage, Academy evaluation and genre realignment take place in accordance with the applicable award-cycle process.

AVA may establish additional procedural details, category-specific requirements and selection limits for an award cycle. Such details may be communicated separately through official AVA channels.

6. Academy Membership and Voting

Voting in the AVA Music Awards is reserved for approved AVA Academy Members.

AVA distinguishes between Community Members and Academy Members. Community membership provides a way for eligible members of the music community to participate in the AVA community. Academy Membership grants the privilege of participating in the Awards’ voting process.

AVA may invite qualified members of the music community to join its community. It may also grant Academy Membership directly to artists and music professionals whose achievements have had an outstanding impact on the Iranian music community or industry.

Eligible Community Members may request Academy Membership in accordance with AVA’s membership requirements. The process includes the applicable endorsement requirements and an AVA review. Meeting the endorsement threshold or submitting a membership request does not automatically guarantee approval.

Academy Membership is a voting privilege. It does not constitute employment by AVA or create an obligation to undertake ongoing work for the organization.

Voting is conducted according to the procedures established for each award cycle. Voting rounds, voting periods and the number of nominees or selections permitted may vary by cycle and will be communicated by AVA when applicable.

For AVA 1st–2027, the published calendar provides for Round One voting from 1–15 July 2027 and a final voting round from 10–15 August 2027.

7. Nominees and Winners

For AVA 1st–2027, nominees are scheduled to be announced on 1 August 2027, followed by the final voting round and the Awards ceremony on 17 September 2027.

Final winners are determined through the applicable AVA selection and voting process for the relevant award cycle.

AVA will publish nominees and winners through its official channels and platforms. It may correct factual or administrative errors in published information where necessary.

Any prizes, awards or additional benefits associated with a particular edition will be communicated through the relevant official announcements.

8. Participant Responsibilities

Participants are responsible for providing truthful, accurate and up-to-date information and for ensuring that they have the necessary rights, permissions or authority concerning the material they submit.

Participants must not use the AVA platform to submit unlawful, fraudulent, materially misleading, infringing or otherwise prohibited material.

AVA may request clarification or supporting information and may remove or exclude a submission if material information is found to be false, misleading, unauthorized or inconsistent with the applicable Regulations or award-cycle requirements.

Participants are expected to follow the applicable submission procedures and requirements published by AVA.

9. Decisions and Changes

AVA may make reasonable administrative decisions necessary to operate the Awards, including decisions concerning eligibility, category placement, submission status and procedural matters, in accordance with these Regulations and the applicable award-cycle requirements.

AVA may update or clarify these Brief Regulations and introduce additional requirements for a particular award cycle. Where a material change affects an active process, AVA will communicate the applicable change through appropriate official channels.

Nothing in these Brief Regulations is intended to limit any rights participants may have under applicable law.
